II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Adama Mickiewicza w Gdyni (Adam Mickiewicz High School in Gdynia) called „Dwójka” („The two”) has been present in the life of Gdynia’s community for almost 90 years. The school is unique due to its ties with the history of the city and through our outstanding graduates, including the City Mayor, dr Wojciech Szczurek and many acknowledged artists, lawyers and scientists. Being „Dwójka’s” graduate is a source of pride and makes one a member of a very exclusive club. „Dwójka” cooperates with numerous respectable institutions, such as the University of Gdańsk (in the field of civic/legal projects), Maritime University, WSAiB, Naval Academy, Gdańsk University of Technology, District Court in Gdańsk, Association of Polish Judges IUSTITIA, District Chamber of Legal Advisers, Pomeranian Chamber of Advocates and European Association of Law Students ELSA. These educational programmes enriched with academic content reach far beyond the curriculum. The students are encouraged to develop according to their needs and interests. The school offers a wide range of language teaching opportunities (in addition to English and German classes, there are bilingual departments with French and also a Swedish language club), interest groups (a music band, a photography club, a rhetoric course and two theatre groups), a student sports club, school radio station and the thriving Student Council. The pupils can also rely on psychological help and a guidance counsellor’s support. These are only some of the advantages of the oldest high school in Gdynia. In recent years, the international cooperation of „Dwójka” has expanded enormously. In addition to the international exchange with Sweden, which has lasted for over 28 years, and students’ exchanges with France, Belgium and Ukraine, the school has joined the European Erasmus + program, in which young people take part in international youth conferences in the Hague twice a year. The cooperation with legal institutions resulted in the participation of young people from legal profile classes in the international legal competition (International Moot Court) in the Hague and its European edition – Moot Court Europe in Romania. The school has also initiated the Baltic Moot Court – European legal competition, hosted by „Dwójka”in 2013 and 2015. With its eventful school life and welcoming and familiar atmosphere which has been our trademark in recent years, „Dwójka” is a school that both teachers and students are glad to be part of.

The school is known for bilingual classes with French as well as legal projects (legal profile classes). Students take part in numerous events, projects and competitions in law, civic education, social issues and history.
